Health - Health Article

This article is far from being a course in nutrition. However, I will explain some basic primary principles to consider when choosing food for your dog. This article does not address the specific needs of small, medium, large breeds, puppies, adults, etc.. but concerning the quality of food.

The first thing to look at is the ingredients and not the brand. Avoid being impressed by the popularity of the brands and the “scientific look” of the bag. Money leads the world (at least, mostly) and when the time comes for companies which know success to update their products by choosing between increasing profits or improving and maintaining quality, it is rare that quality wins. I am taking the time to mention this because during my life, I often had to change food following the discovery of the change in the texture and ingredients which of course, had decreased in quality. Common to all these companies was their success in gaining popularity. Most of the good products that I found on the market were produced by new companies not well known.
